Cellars of Diocletian’s palace is called covered and partly underground space in the most southern part of Old Town (the former province of Diocletian’s Palace) in Split. It is a vaulted, bigger or smaller indoor rooms and corridors between them. Their large size as the entire eighth former Palace.

Shaped the construction of the Palace at the position with a fall towards the coast, for the purpose of equalization level of the southern, residential section, with other parts of the Palace. Clare.

What would perhaps be considered a true value of the basement and making it unique Split in the world, is the fact that over their impressive, monumental space, almost a thousand and a half years of living tissue is the city, streets and houses of Split.
